Join KOWED in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence!

25th November – 10th December 2024

🎗 Theme: Time to Act Now!

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global movement dedicated to ending all forms of violence against women and girls. This year, under the theme “Time to Act Now!”, we at the Kandaakiat Organisation for Women Empowerment and Development (KOWED) are calling on individuals, communities, and institutions to take bold and immediate action to create a safer and more equal world for everyone.

💬 Why Act Now?

1 in 3 women globally experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.

Gender-based violence undermines the health, dignity, and rights of individuals, leaving scars that last generations.

Together, we can break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and drive lasting change.

🔗 How Can You Join the Movement?

1️⃣ Speak Up: Use your voice to advocate for justice and equality. Share stories, resources, and solutions.

2️⃣ Educate Yourself & Others: Attend KOWED’s workshops and awareness campaigns during these 16 days.

3️⃣ Support Survivors: Show solidarity by listening, believing, and assisting violence survivors.

4️⃣ Take Action: Participate in local initiatives, sign petitions, and volunteer for causes that protect women and girls.

🌍 Upcoming Activities by KOWED

Community Dialogues: Open conversations to address root causes of gender-based violence.

Workshops & Training: Empowering women and men to become change agents in their communities.

Social Media Campaign: Follow #TimeToActNow to join the conversation online.

Solidarity Walk: A march to raise awareness and promote solutions on 30th November.

💪 It’s Time to Act Now!

Ending gender-based violence requires all of us to step up. Together, we can create a world where women and girls can live free from fear, violence, and discrimination.
