Village USLA Savings Groups Progress in Buyale Refugee camp Uganda

Categories:

During the month, several development projects continued to support community livelihoods, financial inclusion, and food security. Programs implemented in partnership with international partners focused on strengthening savings groups, promoting urban and rural agriculture, and improving access to water and sanitation services. Activities included ongoing crop farming in Bweyale, home gardening initiatives in Rubaga and Seeta, mushroom cultivation, and vocational training in tailoring and English language skills. In addition, surveys and construction preparations for community wells and eco-toilets progressed to improve sanitation and access to clean water.

Monitoring and support visits were conducted for multiple savings groups to strengthen financial inclusion, with continued facilitation of gender discussion series and business development support. The monitoring process also documented impact stories and community feedback to enhance program learning and accountability. These initiatives continue to empower communities through skills development, sustainable agriculture, and strengthened financial resilience.
