KOWED Drives Forward Food Security and Livelihoods in Kiryandongo

Categories:

Kandaakiat for Women Empowerment and Development (KOWED), in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and community partners, made significant progress under the Global Whole Being Fund Project in Uganda, Kiryandongo Refugee Camp. The team cultivated 14 acres of maize and groundnuts, engaged over 90 community members in a successful inception meeting, and strengthened stakeholder coordination.

With weeding ongoing and smooth project operations, KOWED continues to promote food security and livelihoods through upcoming activities in home gardening, seed distribution, beneficiary training, and Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) group formation.

The momentum generated in these two months ensures the project is on track to meet and exceed its objectives for the 2025 cycle.
