During the reporting period from 25 January to 25 February 2026, the WFI–KOWED project in Seeta continued implementing key activities aimed at strengthening livelihoods and skills development among beneficiaries. The three-month craftwork training program progressed successfully, equipping women with practical craft production skills. Routine office operations, including daily office maintenance, were carried out to ensure a conducive working environment. Several coordination and planning meetings were also held, including discussions with the Executive Director focusing on increasing production levels, participation in women’s preparation meetings with partners in Seeta and Rusaka, and attendance at a staff management meeting for the Seeta team. Additionally, materials were purchased to support production and sales at the training center, and a follow-up was conducted regarding electricity issues at the Mukono office. Staff also participated in a five-day organizational retreat in Jinja, strengthening team coordination and strategic planning.
Overall, the project remained on track toward improving beneficiaries’ knowledge and economic opportunities, with training attendance monitored through attendance sheets as part of the monitoring and evaluation process. However, challenges such as low fee payment turnout and poor time management among some participants affected participation levels. To address these issues, continuous reminders were provided to learners, and the importance of punctuality and commitment was emphasized. For the upcoming month of March 2026, planned activities include continued craftwork training, production activities at the Seeta training center, and value addition initiatives for mushroom products, aimed at further strengthening beneficiaries’ skills and income-generating potential.
