“Thanks to KOWED’s training, I now feed my family and run my own small business with confidence.” – Rose Diko

Before joining the Sustainable Agriculture Crop Farming Program, Rose Diko struggled to provide consistent food for her household. Like many women in her community, limited farming knowledge and poor yields left her family vulnerable to food insecurity and economic hardship.

That changed when Rose became a beneficiary of the Kandaakiat Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (KOWED). Through the program, she received practical training in improved farming techniques, supported by strategic partners committed to sustainable agriculture.

Rose applied her new skills by cultivating maize and groundnuts using modern methods in her backyard. The results were remarkable. Her productivity increased significantly, ensuring a steady food supply for her family while generating surplus produce.

With the income from selling her harvest, Rose established a small shop within her compound, creating an additional source of livelihood and greater financial independence.

Today, Rose stands as a symbol of resilience and self-reliance. Her transformation demonstrates the power of skills development in breaking the cycle of poverty. We celebrate Rose’s success and remain grateful to our partners for making such impactful programs possible.
