Under the Slovenia Aid Food Security Project, Kandaakiat delivered targeted nutrition and meal preparation training to 83 women from vulnerable households at KOWED Center, Seeta, between 1st and 8th August 2025. The training focused on protein-rich foods, the food plate method for balanced meals, hygiene and food storage practices, and nutrition during menstruation, pregnancy, and lactation. Practical demonstrations reinforced theoretical lessons, allowing participants to prepare and consume full-value meals including staples, protein sources such as mushroom stew or eggs, vegetables, fruits, and clean drinking water.
The initiative strengthened participants’ capacity to make informed dietary choices, integrate mushrooms into daily meals, and explore mushroom farming as a sustainable income source. Post-training feedback indicated a significant improvement in nutrition knowledge and confidence in meal preparation. Ongoing mentorship, refresher demonstrations, and on-site support visits further reinforced food safety, post-harvest handling, and entrepreneurial skills, contributing to household food security and long-term livelihood resilience.
